2003 · Eiichiro Homma
Eiichiro Homma founded nanamica in 2003 after a career at Goldwin (the Japanese licensee of The North Face) and brought with him a fluency in membrane fabrics that defines the brand. The name means "seven seas hut" — a nod to Homma's framing of the line as sailor wear that happens to be urban. nanamica is also the engineering team behind The North Face Purple Label, manufactured in Japan with Japanese fabrics for the Japanese market.
